9/15/2023 0 Comments Nintendo switch emulation![]() ![]() ![]() Cemu for Wii U took more than 4 years to be more or less viable. We don’t have a PS4 emulator as of yet –at least not one that isn’t private and unknown–. Now, I’m not saying that everybody, even with an emulator, will buy a Switch. You name it, but the feeling of having the console and physical games still attracts people. Why? Because nostalgia, materialism, collection, sense of pride and accomplishment, etc. I won’t get into the legal aspect of it, but that’s the case. I even bought a SNES Classic some weeks ago even though I have Snes9x installed in my computer. I have emulated basically all Nintendo Systems and still have bought all of their consoles (except for the Virtual Boy). Third –and this comes from personal experience– emulation does not stop people from buying consoles. Second, as others have mentioned, last gen consoles’ emulators are very demanding (see RPCS3) or don’t have a very good performance yet (see Citra) and, as such, not many people can really use them. We won’t be seeing it this year at least, which is one of the key periods for Switch’s sales. First of all, the Switch emulator has still a long way to go. ![]()
